@3IS MAG.E REALLY WORTH 50%?
==========================
@4Following the review of MAG.E Issue 2 in CU Amiga I felt obliged to write
and find out what the problem was.
Here is the letter exactly as I sent it:
@1
Mr. T. E. Lancaster,
19, Ferry Road West,
Scunthorpe,
South Humberside,
DN15 8EA.
19th June 1994.
Dear Sir,
Thank you for reviewing my product (MAG.E Issue Two) in the latest
issue of CU Amiga. However after reading the review I feel that I should
write to point out the following, please don`t take it as a complaint to an
excellent magazine.
MAG.E is in fact autobooting and should open up to a screen with a Dalek on
it (the screenshot printed) with the music playing in the background. A list
of Editorial articles should then be displayed, with six more screens of
articles available by clicking on the right arrow. (I`m sure you`ve seen
Magnum before so you should have an idea about what the system is like).
One of the articles does state the way in which the articles are stored, but
this is meant solely as a guide for anyone wanting to print the files, or to
create their own collection of articles on a certain theme for example.
If your copy does not autoboot in this way then it would be helpful if you
could check that the files Magnum.index and a startup sequence (Run pp,
magnum.prg) or similar is included. If not then I may have accidentely
distributed the incomplete version, otherwise there may be a problem with
the bootblock on the disk in question.
I would be grateful if you could check this for me and see if the disk does
produce a menu or not.
I can be contacted at the address above, or as Tom Lancaster in most of the
Amiga Conferences (bar Amiga mags I`m afraid) on Fidonet. However do not
feel obliged to reply, but it would be helpful if I could find out what the
problem was and offer a solution in the next issue of MAG.E.
Thankyou in anticipation of your help with this matter.
Yours faithfully,
Thomas Lancaster.
@4
I have yet to receive a reply either in person or in the magazine, not that
I expect one.
Has anyone else had this problem? If so could you let me know, because I
have no problem booting my copy. I`m pretty sure that was the one that got
distributed.
Let me know if you have any comments.
Anyone wishing to contact me should also know that I now have an email
address, that is:
Tom.Lancaster@wall-st.demon.co.uk
So you can email comments, letters or articles to me now.
